First I want to point out I am a conservative, but not your typical conservative. I am more of the progressive Arnold Conservative.  Here are my views for background. War on Terror - Nuke them and be done Enviroment - We should all have solar panels on our homes, and drive hydrogen powered cars Abortion - Thats your choice and not the government's Stem Cell Research - I am all about research, Government needs to back off Religion - If I have to pay taxes so should they. Crime - We need to start executing our death row members, instead of letting them live off my tax dollars for decades.  I think we could learn something from IRAQ on this Reality TV - I hate it, unless its on discovery or history channel Ok now to the issue at hand Obama, has the potential to win hands down.  The only other person that comes close to him in public speaking is Newt Gingrich.  Politicians are constantly trying to project an image that matches what the voters want to hear.  Obama is young, and inexperienced, but this also means he is not as tainted with corruption as most other politicians are.  He speaks with a positive attitude, and can improv any situation.  Besides his carissma, and his impecable speaking style, he also will benefit from one thing that no other politician can. He is half black and half white.  IE he is a Tiger Woods in Political Form.  Tiger Woods is already popular among all types of people.  Obama will be able to ride this wave just because of the racial similarities.  The Black vote is one of the lowest turn outs of all the demographics.  Obama will cause them to come out in hords.  He has a liberal view which will benefit him in most of the larger states.  If you ever get a chance to see him speak you will see what I mean.
