Getting Ripped in College

Over the years I have watched many young people try to get in shape. Some want to get a 6 pack, and some want to look like Example A ( Arnold ) Above.  It doesn't matter if you goals it get in shape for yourself or just to pick up chicks or guys, if thats what you are into.  The same principals apply. 

Biggest Mistakes Young people make in Body Building
They don't eat enough
Many young people are affraid of getting fat, especially the girls with the standard freshman 15.  These people do hours of cardio, and then don't eat.  Then they wonder why is the fat not going away, yet I am loosing weight. The answer is your body is canabolizing itself.  IE you are burning your own muscle tissue and not your fat. You should eat roughly 5 times a day.  These don't have to be huge meals, just as long as you are getting protien and eat and some form of complex carbs. 

They expect supplements to give them overnight results
The supplement industry makes billions each year. They take a bottle fill it with crap, then print outragous claims like will make your 1000% bigger, then of course slap a picture of MR Steroid user on the label, and then name it something like, Dianabol RX extreme or some crap that makes it sound like steroids.  Basically you are buying into the multimillion Marketing campaign.  Even though some supplments ( Caffiene, Ephedra, ) can give you a mental edge in your workouts. They are highly addictive and have very bad downs.  The only thing you need is some Multivitamins.
Creatine is not bad either, but I recommend you buy the cheap stuff, then buy some dextrose sugar to take with it.

What exercises build muscle.
One thing to remember is muscles are built on your negative motion.  That means on bench press you build muscle on the down motion and not when you are pushing it up.  The key is to perform you negative motion with a controlled form.  You should feel a good stretch in your muscle.  Free weights are always better. I highly recommend you focus your workouts around dumbells.  This will build muscle faster as it takes more mucle to balance them then traditional bench or machine weights

I want to get cut as fast as possible
Easy,  first make sure your diet is in check.  Cut your Simple Sugars from your diet.  eat at least 5 times a day ( small meals ).  Then do your cardio twice a day 45 minutes each time.  Your first workout should be the second you wake up, before you eat or drink anything.  during your cardio maintain about 135 Heartrate ( no higher ).  This will ensure you burn fat and not your own muscle tissue. 

For the ladies who want a booty

easy sqats, deadlifts, lunges, with either dumbells or a bar. Don't be affraid to use weight either.  Trust me there is no worry about looking like a BB if you incease your weight.
